URBAN DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL JUSTICE: INTERSECTIONS OF POLICY, SOCIOLOGY, AND ECONOMICS
Keywords:
Urban Inequality, Social Justice, Economic Policy, Urban SociologyAbstract
Urban development in Pakistan has been marked by rapid growth, often outpacing the formulation and implementation of inclusive policies. This paper explores the intersections of urban development with social justice through the lenses of policy, sociology, and economics. It examines how urban planning decisions impact marginalized communities, the role of economic policies in shaping urban landscapes, and the sociological implications of urban inequality. The study utilizes case studies from Karachi and Lahore to illustrate these dynamics and proposes a multidisciplinary approach to fostering equitable urban development.
