THE ROLE OF LITERATURE IN ADDRESSING CLIMATE CHANGE: A MULTIDISCIPLINARY VIEW
Keywords:

Climate change, one of the most pressing global challenges, requires urgent attention from multiple disciplines to mitigate its impact. While scientific research and policy frameworks play critical roles in addressing climate change, literature has emerged as a powerful medium to foster awareness, empathy, and action. This paper explores the role of literature in addressing climate change from an interdisciplinary perspective, incorporating insights from literature, sociology, and environmental studies. The paper examines how literary works—through storytelling, metaphors, and symbolism—communicate the emotional, ethical, and social dimensions of climate change. Through a comparative analysis of literary examples from Pakistan and global literature, the paper demonstrates how literature can influence public perceptions, raise awareness, and inspire collective action against climate change.
