Abstract

Globalization has reshaped the world in profound ways, impacting various aspects of human life, particularly cultural and social identity. The forces of globalization—such as the spread of technology, the movement of people and goods, and the integration of economies—have challenged traditional notions of identity and belonging. This article explores the interdisciplinary intersections between globalization and identity, drawing from political science, anthropology, and sociology to understand the dynamic relationship between global integration and local identity formations. By analyzing the impact of globalization on cultural practices, individual identity, and national sovereignty, the paper highlights the complex interplay between global forces and local responses. The article draws on case studies from Pakistan and other regions, offering insights into how globalization influences individual and collective identities. Ultimately, it argues for a more nuanced understanding of globalization, one that accounts for both the opportunities and challenges it presents for identity formation.
